6. Robinho to Manchester City
Brazil forward Robinho was signed by Real Madrid when he was just 19 and his sublime performances with the Spanish giants garnered interest from top flight European hubs. However, Manchester City won the race to sign him and was touted to be a part of their rebuilding process. The Brazilian was an upcoming talent back then and was in his prime. But his attitude problems led to a rift between the club and him. Having deemed Manchester as “an awful place to live”, Robinho never acclimatized to life in England. He adorned the sky-blue colours of Citizens on 53 occasions, scoring 16 times in the process. The Brazil international was then loaned out to Santos, before joining AC Milan on a permanent deal.
