Picture
Van der Sar was an Ajax player for 9 years and is considered a member of their golden generation of players that the club has produced. A great shot-stopper who was always ready for a big challenge, was voted as the best European goalkeeper in 1995 and 2009.

Although he was not the best defender in the world, Danny Blind rates as a great leader, a dependable defender and an important pillar under Ajax's success in the 90's. He was the captain in the 1995 Champions League, which was Ajax's 7th overall European trophy win.
The current club coach was a defender with a spectacular long pass and set-piece specialty. He made 328 appearances for the Amsterdam side - and lifted 5 Eredivisie titles and the 1995 Champions League trophy.
During his 12-year career at Ajax, Krol played 339 times and won 8 Dutch league titles. He was a versatile defender who combined hard tackling and accurate 60 metre crosses with his left foot. He also played as a libero in his late career, but he was one of the best left-backs in the 70's, playing for the Ajax side which won three consecutive European Cups.

Arguably the most complete defensive-midfielder of all time, as Rijkaard had it all. He won 328 caps with the Dutch side, in two different spells, during in which he won 5 Eredivisie titles, and the 1995 Champion's League.
Neeskens was a major contributor to the development of "Total Football", even though he left the club at the age of 23. It was his habit of aggressively chasing the ball, that set into motion the carousel of movement that characterised the Ajax side of the early 70′s. He wore Ajax's shirt 124 times.
Mister Swart -as the fans call him- is the most capped player in Ajax's history, having made 596 appearances. An incredible scorer for a right winger (217 goals), Swart combined pace and technique. He was a key player during Ajax's European Cup threepeat and during 8 Dutch league championships.

The Dutch legend is probably the most important player to ever wear Ajax's shirt and one of the greatest footballers to ever play. His name is synonymous with the playing style of Total Football. Cruyff was a playmaker, ammunitions provider and marksman rolled into one. He was known for his technique, acceleration and his unmatched vision. He made 365 appearances with Ajax and lifted 3 European Cups and 8 domestic championships.
One of the finest strikers in football's history, Marco van Basten married the technique and vision of a playmaker and the elegance of a winger with the killer instinct of a great striker. He has a fantastic record of scoring 152 goals in 172 matches, during his 6-year spell at the Eredivisie side. Van Basten was named European footballer of the Year three times throughout his career ('88,'89,'92).
The Finland-born player was the leader in Ajax's 1995 Champion's League win. With glorious technique, various shot selection and natural eye for the goal, Litmanen scored 136 goals during his 257 appearances with the Amsterdam side.
